Aaliyah Dana Haaughton gained fame after releasing the album she dubbed Age Ain't Nothing More Than a Number in 1994. Aaliyah Dana Haughton was just 15 when the album became Gold. This collaboration was strongly influenced by R. Kelly, and put the singer on the map. In 1996 Jermaine and Timbaland came out with Aaliyah's sophomore album One In A Million. It contained If Your Girls Only Knew the most-sold single. After the release of this work Aaliyah gained international attention for her work as an R&B artist. She appeared alongside the martial arts legend Jet Li in the romance-action film Romeo Must Die. Joel Silver, a film producer, who was attending an award show in which she was cast and spotted her. She was cast in the vampire film that was based on Anne Rice Queen of the Damned, which came out in 2002. Then she was introduced to the Matrix with her role as Zee in The Matrix Sequels having also been in The Matrix Reloaded in 2003 as well as The Matrix Revolutions in the same year. While she started out in film and TV with a few minor performances, her acting career picked up momentum in the mid-2000s. The actress has also been featured in Leverage, Suits, Grey's Anatomy and Grey's Anatomy. She's appeared in many commercials for Volvo's international automobile manufacturer. She lives at Los Angeles along with her spouse, daughter, and husband. She is also pursuing her acting profession.
